The Indian Himalayan Region part of the Himalayas is within India country. It is spanning 10 Indian administrative states they are Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and West Bengal of Indian Republic. The region is liable for providing water to an outsized a part of the Indian subcontinent but contains various flora and fauna.

The IHR physiographically, ranging from the foothills of south (Shivaliks). This range extends up to Tibetan plateau on the north (Trans-Himalaya). The greater Himalaya, lesser Himalaya and thus the outer Himalaya extending almost uninterrupted throughout its length. They are the 3 major geographical entities. Mighty but older streams just like the Indus, Sutlej, Kali, Kosi and Brahmaputra have traverse steep gorges. They flee into the good Plains but have established their antecedence.

Karakoram Mountains that continue into Pakistan and China are the northern most mountains. To the south of the Karakoram lies the Zanskar Ranges. They lies parallel to each other within the north-western which is a neighborhood of India. Most of its area lying within the state of Jammu and Kashmir as its capital Srinagar, too. Itinerary

DETAILED ITINERARY FOR TRANS HIMALAYAN JEEP SAFARI

Day 1: Drive from Manali to Jispa. Today we start our Manali Leh Jeep Safari Leg of our grand Trans Himalayan Jeep Safari to Leh stopping at Jispa for a night. We cross the Rohtang Pass (3978 m) and Keylong (3350 m) the district head quarter of Lahaul and Spiti. Upon arrival in Jispa we will set up our camp for an overnight stay. Jispa is an ideal location for the over night stop during Trans Himalayan Jeep Safari because of its altitude which is around 3300m beyond Jispa all stopovers are above 4ooo m which pose a risk of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). Sarchu is between Baralacha La to the south and Lachulung La to the north, at an altitude of 4,290 m which very high in comparison if you stayed at Manali (2000m) last night. Day 2: Jispa to Leh. We leave early in the morning for Leh, through Baralacha la, Nakeela and Lachang la Pass 16,617 ft. Lunch at Pang. After Lunch we drive to Leh passing through Skyangchu Thang (Biggest and highest plateau on Earth on Stretch of 42 Kms), Tanglang La Pass 17,585ft and the Indus Valley. Upon arrival in Leh check into the hotel and take complete rest to get acclimatized to High altitude. Day 3: Sightseeing around Leh Today is rest day and acclimatization day to the high altitude of Ladakh. Ladakh Jeep Safari first leg from Manali to Leh is very tiring because of road and 5 high altitude passes. Have your breakfast in your hotel and take complete rest to acclimatize to the Ladakh high altitude unique environment in evening we will have briefing session about the trip. Day 4: Leh to Nubra Valley After an early breakfast we start our Leh Ladakh Jeep Safari, we drive to Nubra Valley through the Khardungla- Pass (the highest motorable road in the world at 18,390 ft). Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldorma (LUDMRA) or the Valley of Flowers. It is situated to the North of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. We explore this beautiful valley and the villages and monasteries surrounding it. Overnight stay at beautiful homestay managed by local Ladakhi family. Enjoy the delicious dinner prepared by them and all ingredients sourced from their own farm which surrounds their beautiful home.  Day 5: Nubra Valley to Leh After breakfast at the camp, we visit the sand dunes in the Nubra valley and enjoy a small camel safari. Later we drive back to Leh. In the evening you can either rest or take a walk to the local market with us. Overnight at hotel. Day 6: Drive from Leh to Pangong Lake. After an early breakfast we leave for Pangong Lake through Changla pass (5486 Mtrs). Pangong lake, situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 m) is a long narrow basin of inland drainage, hardly six to seven kilometres at its widest point and over 130km long . The picturesque lake is bisected by the international border between India and China. We spend the night on the shores of this beautiful Lake with the Milky Way to keep us company. Day 7: Pyongang Lake to Leh Today we drive back to Leh enroute visiting Thiksey Monastery (An impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village). Overnight stay in Leh. Day 8: We depart from Leh We will help to arrange a taxi to transfer to domestic airport to catch the flight for your onward destination, Trans Himalayan Jeep Safari concludes. Alternate Options : Travel to Srinagar in two days The other option is to take our customized itinerary from Leh to Srinagar via Darachik – The Red Aryan Village. The other options for sightseeing are Hall of Fame near Leh, Kali Mata Temple, Gurudwara Patthar Sahib (built by the Lamas of Leh in 1517 to commemorate the visit of Guru Nanak Dev). A drive of another 4 km will take us to Magnetic Hill which defies the law of gravity. It’s been noticed that when a vehicle is parked on neutral gear on this metallic road the vehicle slides up!! We drive further through a picturesque landscape as we reach the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar River 4 km before Nimmu village.
