Overview

Leh Bike Package

Leh Bike trip is through hidden over high passes in an arid. largely treeless rain shadow so, Ladakh boasts of a classic Trans Himalayan scenery. Huge khaki-colored valleys and big rock walls brought alive due to the occasional splash of irrigated green. Traditional Tibetan Buddhist culture remains intact here because of beautiful monasteries that burst into life. During dance festivals that have changed little in over 500 years.

This contains everything an adventure lover wants. Epic treks, sparkling high-altitude mountain lakes, and a well-developed backpacker infrastructure based around the capital, Leh.

Leh, the high-desert city in the Himalayas, is the capital of the Leh region in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir state. Originally a stop for trading caravans, Leh is now known for its Buddhist sites and nearby trekking areas. Massive 17th-century Leh Palace, modeled on the Dalai Lama’s former home (Tibet’s Potala Palace), overlooks the old town’s bazaar and mazelike lanes.

Leh has a cold desert climate (Köppen climate classification BWk) with long, cold winters from late November to early March, with minimum temperatures well below freezing for most of the winter. The city gets occasional snowfall during winter. The weather in the remaining months is generally fine and warm during the day. The average annual rainfall is only 102 mm (4.02 inches). In 2010 the city experienced flash floods that killed more than 100 people. 12 inches of snowfall is nearly equal to one inch of rainfall in water volume.
