Overview

Pong Dam Lake was created in 1975 when the highest earth fill dam in India was built on the river Beas. Pong lake is situated in the wetland zone of the Shiwalik Hills of the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. It is well-known for its wildlife sanctuary and adventure sports. Pong lake attracts migratory birds from the plains of India, Central Asian countries and Siberia. More than 220 species of birds could be found near the area. The periphery above the water surface area of the reservoir has recorded fauna species such as barking deer, sambar, wild boars, leopards and oriental small clawed otters.

Detailed Itinerary for 2 Night 3 Days Camping Near Pong Lake, Kangra

Day 01: Arrival at Campsite Near Pong Lake, Kangra Reach Kangra, which is about 430 km from Delhi. After reaching the campsite you will be welcomed by our staff members and then we will check you into your Alpine tents or Deluxe rooms. The rooms are furnished with all modern amenities including an attached tiled bathroom with 24 hours hot and cold shower. In evening you can go for the amazing Boat ride to the Ranser Island. We will explore the island's flora and fauna and while returning we will go for cliff diving and swimming. Day? ?02:? Kayaking and Canoeing Get up and prepare yourself for the mesmerizing water sports activities like kayaking, canoeing, water boarding, water skiing, cliff diving and swimming. Day? ?03:? Snorkeling and Bird watching Wake up and enjoy the beauty of nature. With activities like Snorkeling and Bird watching you will come close to amazing world around you. After you return you can enjoy sports like cricket and volleyball. Later music and bonfire will be arranged to provide you an unforgettable experience of your life.
