Hampi (in Kannada), also referred to as the Group of Monuments at Hampi. That is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in east-central Karnataka, India. It became the pilgrimage center of the Hindu religion. It was the capital of the Vijayanagara Empire in the 14th century. Chronicles left by Persian and European travelers, particularly the Portuguese are saying that state Hampi was a prosperous, wealthy and grand city near the Tungabhadra River, with numerous temples, farms and trading markets. By 1500 CE, Hampi-Vijayanagara was the world’s second-largest medieval-era city after Beijing. Also, probably India’s richest at that time, attracting traders from Persia and Portugal. Therefore, The Hampi trip will make you happy. The Vijayanagara Empire was defeated by a coalition of Muslim sultanates.

Itinerary

Day 0 (Friday night): ? Start from Hyderabad around 9 PM (4 picks up points - will be shared later with registered people) Day 1 (Saturday): ? Reach Hampi campsite, freshen up & breakfast, start the Heritage Walk along the banks of the river Tungabhadra towards the monuments/temples like Varaha temple, Sule Bazar, the magnificent Vittal temple, etc. Break for lunch in the middle. ? Visit Virupaksha temple and have a nice sunset view at Virupaksha hill. Come back to the campsite, freshen up, dinner & a social gathering at night. Day 2 (Sunday): ? Start the day little late, breakfast, enjoy the cool breeze of the pristine Sanapur Lake - take a dip if you wish to (Muddie Trails will provide few life jackets), go on a coracle ride on the lake (optional - self-sponsored), take lots of selfies, relax and rejuvenate. ? Drive to the base of the Anjanadri hill (Hanuman's birthplace) & hike up the hill on the northern banks of Tungabhadra river, relax & enjoy the amazing sunset, get back to the campsite ? late in the evening, enjoy hot dinner & another party on Christmas eve before retiring for the night. Day 3(Christmas day - Monday): ? Wake up late, check-out of campsite, breakfast, drive to Anegundi (the kingdom of monkeys as it's called) and/or Thungabadra dam (optional) & start ? We will back to Hyderabad after self-sponsored lunch. Reach Hyderabad by night, will drop at the same points as picked up. ? In case we get late (after 11 PM), you will be dropped at your door-step by our vehicle or Muddie Trails' organizer if you are a single girl.
