Manali to Leh Bike Trip

Manali to Leh Bike trip is through a high-altitude Himalayan resort town in India’s northern Himachal Pradesh state. It has a backpacking center and honeymoon destination.On the Beas River, it is a gateway in the Solang Valley and trekking in Parvati Valley. It is also a jumping point for paragliding, rafting in the Pir Panjal mountains.

Real adventure interested person should have to visit at least once this region. It provides wide scope for biking, off roading, hiking, camping, trekking and many more. The major attractions include in this trip are Manali, Rohtang Pass, unpredictable Baralachla Pass, picture view of Sarchu, Tanglangla Pass (the second highest motorable pass in the world), Leh (the beautiful tiny city), land of lama’s & monasteries, Khardungla(the highest motorable road in the world), Nubra valley (the cold desert) where you can ride on double humped camel in magical sand dunes, the magical color changing Pangong TSO, Magnetic hill, confluence of Indus and Zanskar river, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, splendor of Indian victory Kargil War Memorial, Srinagar (heaven of the world ), the world famous Dal lake and many more. Manali

Manali is known as after the Sanatan Hindu lawgiver Manu. The Manali came from the word ‘Manu-Alaya’ which accurately means ‘the abode of Manu’. Legend has it that sage Manu stepped off his ark in Manali to recreate human life after an excellent flood had deluged the planet . Manali lies within the North of Kullu Valley. The ‘Valley of the Gods’ is the another for that valley. An ancient temple dedicated to sage Manu in old manali village.

The British introduced apple trees within the area. No Apple trees grew within the area, then british found primary groves near patlikuhal. To the present day, apple along side plum and pear are the simplest source of income for the bulk of people here. Colonisers introduced the both Rainbow and salmon Trout into the rivers.

Itinerary

Itinerary Day 1 (Delhi to Manali) Begin your adventure journey through the hearts of Ladakh by boarding an overnight bus from Delhi to Manali. The journey from Delhi to Manali takes an entire night. Day 2 (Local Sightseeing) Once you’ve reached the mystic city of Manali, make way towards your hotel and check into your allocated rooms. Our tour representative will hand over all the required documents of the drive in the hotel. Later get ready to visit all the local attractions at your own leisurely pace. Head towards the Solang valley and enjoy paragliding later visit Manalis oldest temple; the Hadimba temple, and then take a dip at the wonderful hot springs of Vashisht village. Later go shopping at the mall road and buy any souvenirs that caught your eye. Return to the hotel at night and take rest followed by dinner. Day 3 (Manali to Jispa) Post a scrumptious breakfast, head out on your big adventure. Head towards Jispa; a beautiful town. You will be crossing the Rohtang Pass on the way which connect Kulu valley with Lahaul Spiti valley. Rohtang pass has been abundantly blessed with amazing natural scenery. The Chandra and Bhaga river flowing through this area calms the soul and blesses everyone with inner peace. Overnight stay is provided at Jispa. Day 4 (Jispa to Sarchu) Post breakfast, leave towards Sarchu. The road that leads to Sarchu is through the Himalayan belt. Enjoy the splendid view as you pass through the Baralacha Pass which is situated at an altitude of 5000 meters above sea level. Sarchu is located between border of Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir and as such, the landscape’s beauty is astounding. Reach the Sarchu camp and spend the rest of the day leisurely. Overnight stay is provided at the camp. Day 5 (Sarchu to Leh) Post an early breakfast, leave from Sarchu to Leh; the capital of Ladakh. The ride from Sarchu to Leh is extremely fun as you get to ride on different road types. Drive through the Upper Indus valley and marvel at the ruins present till this day. You will be reaching Leh by evening. Overnight stay is provided at Leh. Day 6 (Leh local sightseeing) Post a scrumptious and a hearty breakfast, set out to explore the fantastic and mystic capital of Ladakh; Leh. Leh has won the hearts of many tourists due to its scenic beauty. Visit the visiting Shanti Stupa, Jama Masjid, Leh Palace, Polo Grounds and the War Museum. Later, return to the hotel and prepare for the next day. Overnight stay is provided at Leh. Day 7 (Leh to Nubra Valley) Post breakfast, leave Leh and head towards the Nubra valley. You are in for a pleasant surprise during the ride on this day. You will be crossing the Khardung La pass, which is also known as the “world’s highest motorable pass”. After crossing this magnificent pass, head towards Diskit. Later, the sand dunes of Nubra valley will welcome you. Overnight stay is provided at a camp in Nubra valley. Day 8 (Nubra Valley to Tso Pangong Lake) Post breakfast, head towards the Pangong Tso lake via the Shyok valley. The river of Pangong Tso is amazing and it is extremely beautiful. Spend the day frolicking on the river banks at your own leisurely pace. Overnight stay is provided at the campsite. Day 9 (Tso Pangong to Leh) Post breakfast; make way towards Leh from Pangong Tso lake. Take in the beauty of the crystal blue waters one last time before you begin your journey towards Leh. You will be crossing the Chang la pass enroute which is the third highest motorable pass. After reaching Leh, spend the rest of the day at your own leisurely pace. Overnight stay is provided at the hotel. Day 10 (Leh to Sarchu) Post a scrumptious breakfast, leave towards Sarchu from the land of Leh. Take the Manali Leh highway and keep riding towards Sarchu. En route cross the Tanglang la which is the second highest motorable pass in the world. Tanglang la is also called as “highway to hell”. Reach Sarchu by evening and settle into the camps. Spend the rest of the day at your own leisurely pace. Overnight stay is provided at the campsite. Day 11 (Sarchu to Manali) Post breakfast, begin your journey towards Manali from Sarchu. Take in the magnificent sights of the wonderful Manali Leh highway for the last time. After reaching Manali, spend the rest of the day at your own leisurely pace. Overnight stay is provided at the hotel. Day 12 (Departure) Post breakfast, begin your journey towards your destination with your bags packed full of memories from the adventure of a lifetime.

  • Here is a list of essential things one should carry for a trip to Ladakh, While we can tell you the essential but kindly think of your requirements also. Families coming with kids should carry stuff you kids need. We feel a cross check of luggage with this list before leaving, would be helpful to many of us in reducing the chances of forgetting some small things while we go on a trip.   • Best way to choose clothes is - Spread all your clothes you wanted to carry for trip on bed. Now remove 50% out as per priority. Now you got the best clothes. Avoid too much of clothes you will end up wearing half of it. But you will end up wasting lots of time in packing and unpacking while others will be enjoying outside
  • 1 Towel
  • 6 - 8 Pairs of socks (woollen)
  • 1 pair of flip flops
  • At least two light jackets
  • Warm head cover, ear covers & Forehead covers (To avoid getting AMS in high altitude due to cold winds).
  • 1 heavy woolen jacket

  • At least 2-3 pairs of thermal - Most useful thing. This way your bag comes down to half its size.
  • Rain coat - A Must thing. Even if it’s not raining it will save you from cold winds, mud and water on roads.
  • 2-3 Jeans/Track pants (If you want more comfort) and 5 to 6 T shirt.

  • Important Information
  • People who choose with Bike+Fuel package have to pay security deposit of Rs.10000/- Which is refundable you once handover the bike at the end of the trip.
  • Trip schedule is subjected to change as per road, weather and other unavoidable conditions so take a day or two in buffer. This is not an ordinary place its "Leh Ladakh". Only Team members have the right to take decision depending on above.
  • Any extra cost (Transportation/ Accommodation) arising due to natural calamities like, landslides, road blockage, political disturbances (strikes) or change in law, etc (to be borne by the client as per actual, which is directly payable on the spot).
  • Strictly No suitcase/Trolley bags are allowed only 1 backpack bag is allowed in Backup vehicle/ Luggage Vehicle. We provide luggage vehicle however customer will be responsible for their own luggage.
  • Kindly note this is expedition is not an ordinary trip so mentally prepare yourself for the same, take it as a challenge.
  • Traveller will be responsible for their personal belongings on the trip, company will not be responsible for the same.
