Overview

Deo Tibba Base trek is one of the most picturesque treks in the Manali region which offers landscapes ranging from alpine forests, meadows (locally known as thatch), waterfalls, moraines and a blue water high altitude lake known as mini-Chandratal (4480m). The trek offers great view of snow clad peaks of Deo Tibba (6001m) & Indrasan (6220m) along with the glaciers of Jagatsukh and Deo Tibba. The flora and fauna in the entire stretch is an enriching experience for nature lovers. This trek is feasible for beginners and exciting for experienced trekkers as well.

Itinerary

DETAILED ITINERARY FOR DEO TIBBA TREK

Day 1: Reporting and Acclimatization All the participants will report at Rumsu base camp by 8 AM and will undergo registration process. Freshening up and breakfast will happen at the base camp. Post breakfast we will go for an acclimatization walk. Lunch at 1 PM. Post lunch orientation. Orientation will cover all the general instructions that could be helpful for the trek like back packing, marching technique and medical awareness. Post snacks we will have an ice breaking session. Overnight stay at Rumsu base camp. Day 2: Rumsu to Chikka First day of the trek starts from Jagatsukh Dam. A beautiful drive for the participant from Rumsu to Jagatsukh Dam. The trek commences with a gradual incline from the Dam, which is at the left side of the Jagatsukh Nallah. A lot of wild berries are spotted along the trekking route, it takes three to four hours to reach Chikka campsite. A water stream flows from Chikka which takes a shape of a snake. A shiv temple which is naturally formed, camping and littering is strictly prohibited near the temple. Participants will camp overnight at Chikka. Day 03: Chikka to Seri  Breakfast would be served in the morning. The trek will commence towards Seri. Initial patch of the trek is through the jungle, it takes around six to seven hours to reach Seri. Seri is a long spread of green meadows almost the size of three to four football ground put together. A beautiful waterfall is to be witnessed followed by different tributaries. Seri was once a glaciated lake but now it’s a vast spread of green meadow. Overnight camping at Seri. Day 04: Seri to Deo Tibba Base Trek commences after an early breakfast by 6 AM. The route goes through rivers, and has a steep climb. It takes three hours to reach Tenta. A clear view of Deo Tibba peak and Indrasan peak is visible from Tenta and then another three to fours hours trek to reach Deo Tibba base camp, where nature promises a fascinating view to all the trekkers. We start our trek back to the camp at Tenta. Overnight stay at Tenta. Day 05: Exploring Chota-Chandrataal
It will take around 4 hours to reach mini lake known as chota  Chandrataal . After exploring and finishing our packed lunch we will head back again to Tenta. Overnight stay at Tenta.
Day 06: Trek back to Chikka
We will descend to Chikka which is 11 km from Tenta.  The descend is easy and will take around 4-5 hours. Participants can enjoy bonfire being last day of the trek. Overnight stay at Chikka.
Day 07: Descend to Jagatsukh and departure to Manali We will start our descend from Chikka. We will take the same route to descend to Jagatsukh.  Jeep Ride to Manali. Departure from Manali by 5 PM.
