Overview

One of the key highlights of this trek is that it takes you to 4,610 meters in just few days. . Moon Peak climb is a comparatively shorter yet challenging trek. The steep gradient makes this a challenge doubled by bouldery and rocky later part of the trail. Moon Peak becomes greater and more beautiful as we progress on our trail.This is the chance for very few to reach the top of this wonderful iconic peak of Dhauladhars.

Moon Peak lies in the Dhauladhar mountain ranges of Western Himalayas. Lying in Himachal Pradesh, the range divides two districts of Chamba and Kangra (Dharamshala). Another major plus for the trek is that it starts from McLeodganj. McLeodganj is one of most popular hill towns in the country and world renowned for being seat of Tibet government in exile. A trekker can club his adventure with cultural tour of the town and also go shopping and food tasting here. McLeodganj is a foodie’s paradise for sure.

Itinerary

Day1- MCLEODGANJ TO TRIUND (2900m.) [9 kms. / 5 hours]

It is a beautiful well-marked trail. We start in the morning at around 8 am. Today we gain a total of over 1000 meters in altitude. Triund is a beautiful ridge and a meadow.

Day2- TRIUND TO ILAQA GOT (5 KMS / 3 HOURS):

We trek from Triund to Ilaqa Got in the morning. We pass through Snowline Cafe (1-2 hours from Triund) and Ilaqa Got at another one hour. We will keep it as a rest day and go for an acclimatization walk to the mountain range base.

Day3- ILAQA TO LAHESH CAVES

Today we start after breakfast in the morning. It might be one of the easier days. Though climb to Moon Peak can be attempted from Ilaqa. We cut short the duration by two hours for tomorrow and make Lahesh Caves as our base. If the group is ready to go for a climb on this very day, we can try an attempt starting very early in the morning. This can also be used as an additional day in case weather is not favourable.

Day4- MOON PEAK CLIMB (4700 m.) AND BACK TO ILAQA:

We start early, cross the beautiful Indrahar Pass. After the descent, we again ascent and climb the Moon Peak (4700 m). After a brief stay there, we return to our base by later afternoon.

Day5- ILAQA GOT TO McLEODGANJ

In the morning, we start from Ilaqa to McLeodganj to end a memorable journey.

Cancellation Policy:
Between 21 - 30 Days:- 60% of Trek/adventure program cost will be refunded.
Up to 30 Days:- 90% of Trek/adventure program cost will be refunded.
Between 20 - 11 Days:- 30% of Trek/adventure program cost will be refunded.
Less than 10 Days:- No refund.
Rescheduling Policy:
Up to 10 Days:- 30% of Trek/adventure program cost will be charged.
Less than 10 Days:- No rescheduling allowed.
Other Terms:
Any additional costs due to weather / unforeseen situations, will have to be borne by the traveller.
Our team reserves the right to change the plan in case there is danger involved for the group or whenever the trek leader deem it necessary.
Final word of the trek leaders will have to followed by all the members.
No show and trek changes/cancellation due to bad weather or natural calamity will be non-refundable.
