Overview

Shivaji Maharaj included this fort under his kingdom after his coronation. Its believed that Shivaji Maharaj secretly visited this fort.

A beautiful Lord Ram Temple at the base.

The Cool breeze over the massive fort makes you relish every moment spent here. The Rays reflected in the clear waters of upper Vaitarna Dam, leaves one awestruck

The main entrance door of the fort is still stood in good condition. Entering the main door we can see cave of the right side. We can see small pond towards southern side of fort. There are many dilapidated structures of mansion by the side of this pond. A bastion at western end of the fort. A cistern is located near bastion.

Itinerary

Day 1

We will be starting with the Kasara Semi Fast Local (time-table given below)

Members are requested to take return ticket till Kasara by their own. Board the second last compartment from Kasara side which is the second one from CST side. Everybody will board the same local and we can meet in the train itself.We will proceed to the base village by Local Transport (18 KM from Kasara Station) Reach Base Village by 2:30 am, Start the trek by 4:00 am. Reach the top by 5.30 am Fort exploration and Start descending by 7: 00 am. Reach Base Village by 8:00 am Have Breakfast at base village Reach Kasara by 10.30 am. We will be returning to Mumbai by 1 pm – 2 pm tentatively.
