Matheran, means “forest on the forehead”. It is an eco-sensitive region located on the Western Ghats range at an elevation of around 800 m (2,625 feet) above sea level. It is located in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, it is a plateau with dense forest cover.
Matheran is one of the few places in the world where vehicles are not allowed, that makes it a place quite different from others. The beauty of the hill station gets doubled in monsoon as the climate becomes very cool. The climate and natural beauty around Matheran makes it an awesome place to spend a weekend.

Detailed Itinerary For Overnight Camping In Matheran

Day 1: Arrival In Matheran Reach Dasturi Naka in Matheran from Mumbai or Pune via Neral by afternoon. On arrival you will be welcomed by our staff, relax for a while & then we will start our trek from Dasturi Naka to our Campsite near Charlotte Lake. Tents at the campsite are equipped with tent lights and comfortable mats to sleep. Rejoice in the beautiful nature around the camp. In evening enjoy tea and coffee. Later you can go for Night trek to nearby jungle for thrills and adventure. Day? ?02:? Breakfast and Trek Get up and enjoy the scenic beauty around the camp. Have breakfast amid the forest and get ready for trek back to Dasturi Naka. Enjoy the scenic trek through the green forest of Matheran.
