Overview

Rajmachi is one of the best places to see millions of fireflies at one place in India. Fireflies or lightning bugs make light within their bodies. This process is called bioluminescence and is shared by many other organisms, mostly sea-living or marine organisms. Fireflies light up to attract a mate. To do this, the fireflies contain specialized cells in their abdomen that make light.
Rajmachi Fort is one of the many historical forts in the rugged hills of Sahyadri mountains. It consists of two twin fortresses Shriwardhan Ballekilla and Manaranjan Balekilla, with a wide machi surrounding the two Balekillas.

Day 1: Saturday Meeting Point – Lonavala Railway station Platform No. 1 near ticket counter i.e Exit Gate Mumbai People – Please catch 17031 - Hyderabad Express Pune People – Please catch 01.00pm Pune-Lonavala local. Train Details from Mumbai 17031 - Hyderabad Express 12:45 PM Mumbai CST 12:57 PM Dadar 01:37 PM Kalyan 02:18 PM Karjat 03:07 PM Lonavala Pune-Lonavala local timetable 01.00 pm – Pune Staion 01.05 pm – Shivaji Nagar 01:22 pm – Pimpri 01.26 pm – Chinchwad 01.47 pm – Talegaon 02.20 pm – Lonavala 03.15 pm Meet Leader at Lonavala Station 03.45 pm – Move to Rajmachi Village by local Transport 08.00 pm – Reach Rajmachi and freshen up.
