Overview

Pong Dam Lake was created in 1975, by building the highest earth fill dam in India on the Beas River in the wetland zone of the Shiwalik Hills of the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. It is well-known for its wildlife sanctuary and adventure sports. The Dam attracts migratory birds from the plains of India, Central Asian countries and Siberia. More than 220 bird species could be found near the area. The periphery above the water surface area of the reservoir has recorded fauna species such as barking deer, sambar, wild boars, leopards and oriental small clawed otters.

Detailed Itinerary for Water Sports & Camping Near Pong Lake, Kangra

Day 01: Arrival at Alpine Tents, Kangra Arrive in Kangra form Delhi, it is about 430 km from Delhi. After reaching the campsite you will be received by our staff members. Now you can check into your Alpine tents or Deluxe rooms. The rooms are furnished with all modern amenities including an attached tiled bathroom with 24 hours hot and cold shower. In evening freshen up and get ready for the different water sports like kayaking, canoeing, water boarding, water skiing and while returning you may go for cliff diving and swimming. Day? ?02:? Snorkeling and Bird watching Rise up and enjoy awesome forest around you. Today we will go for Snorkeling and Bird watching. After you return you can enjoy sports like cricket and volleyball. Later you can listen to music and enjoy the awesome bonfire amidst forest.
